  • 8 gr of calamine
  • 8 grams of zinc oxide
  • 2 grams of pink clay and 2 grams of white clay
  • 4 g of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of filtered water (can also be distilled or rose)
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid glycerin
  • 4 drops of rose, lavender, or tea tree essential oil (you can combine one drop of each)

  • Add all the dry ingredients first: calamine, zinc oxide, clays (optional), and baking soda. Mix until just incorporated. If you use clay, you cannot use metallic elements for the preparation.
  • Then add the water little by little and mix.
  • Add the glycerin and oils mixture. If necessary, add more water.

How to Use Calamine Lotion

Using calamine lotion is very easy. You have to clean the area with fresh water, dry gently, and add the lotion with a cotton ball or your hands. We can use this lotion on sensitive and irritated skin and babies from three months of age.

We can use it in itchy skin and sunburn as long as the skin is not significantly damaged. We should only apply it in cases of redness but not in bleeding or severe wounds. You can apply this lotion 3 or 4 times a day. You will feel immediate relief, and with its use, it will reduce the other symptoms of each of the skin problems mentioned above.
